Support Brenay Weems' Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Mildred Starks, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Ms. Brenay Weems, to humbly request your full support and generosity in her journey toward her rehabilitation and recovery process.

In May 2024, Brenay suffered a devastating gastrointestinal bleeding that led to a hemorrhagic stroke affecting both sides of her brain, leading to a challenging hospitalization and a long road to recovery. At the young age of thirty-two, this tragic event has severely impacted her daily life. She has loss her left visual field known as (left hemianopia), she is no longer permitted to drive, and she struggles with difficulty navigating, reading, and sometimes performing certain tasks. Unforeseen tragedy has stripped her away from the independence she once knew. Brenay is an extraordinary Licensed Master Social Worker who dedicated her career to supporting students with disabilities at Jones Community College. She ensured her students had equal opportunities to thrive, instilling resilience, perseverance, and hope. Known for her vibrant smile, "bubbly" personality, and glamorous fashion sense, Brenay's passion for helping others was evident in every aspect of her life.

Now, Brenay hope and prays of regaining her independence and returning to the work she loves. However, she is currently unable to work due to visual impairment and is awaiting the lengthy process of being approved for Social Security Disability. She urgently needs occupational therapy for right-side weakness, vision therapy for focusing and processing, workplace accommodations, and monthly assistance for medication, rent, utilities, and essential needs.

I personally would like to thank you in advance for your heart of compassion. God's grace has truly saved Brenay's life, and we know her purpose is not yet complete here on this earth. Therefore, to God be the glory and may He bless the each of you.

“We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other. If you are always there for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you."
