Hi everyone! My name is Bree and I am here to tell you about my little story. Last year, in May 2024, I found out I had six lumps in my breast, not thinking anything of it. As time went on, I developed swelling, pain, and high blood levels. I immediately began to see a specialist, had several mammograms, ultrasounds, and a biopsy. After fighting for 15 months, around August 2025, I was diagnosed with HER2-Negative Breast Cancer. For those who don’t know what type of breast cancer that is, I’ll explain. HER2-negative breast cancer is a type of breast cancer in which the cancer cells do not express the HER2 protein. It can be a lump or thickening in the breast, changes in breast size or shape, nipple discharge, and skin changes over the breast.
I am scheduled to have breast surgery to remove the cancerous cells and lumps, which they’re considering preventive care so no cancer spreads or gets worse than what it is at the moment. I am making this GoFundMe seeking help for the partial cost of my procedure and recovery. My insurance is covering the majority of my costs. I still have to cover the cost of the anesthesia and hospital stay. I also have been taken off work for 6-8 weeks to recover and heal correctly, but with short-term disability, they only pay out half of your salary, and I will not be able to take care of myself with that kind of temporary income. So here I am today, reaching out to the world asking for help. Even if after reading this and you aren’t able to help donate, a simple share can go a long way! I appreciate everyone’s support.
Sincerely, another survivor!
