Help Support Louise's Breast Cancer Journey

Hello my friends, I have been socially inactive for so long because I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I went for my mammogram in early November and they found a tumor. A couple of weeks later, they did an ultrasound & diagnostic mammogram to get a better look at it, then two weeks later, a biopsy was done. The biopsy came back malignant.

My next step was finding a great breast cancer surgeon to do a lumpectomy surgery ASAP and by the end of the year so I wouldn't have to pay another $4,000 max out of pocket come January 1st. Well, unfortunately, that didn't happen. It was too close to Christmas to find a surgeon that was available.

So, now it's January 2025 and the $4,000 max out of pocket has to be paid again. At this point I have maxed out my credit cards and drained my savings account.

I finally found a great surgeon and she scheduled me to have a Savi Scout marker placed inside my breast to mark the location of the tumor a week prior to the surgery. My surgery was scheduled for January 22nd with a Nuclear Injection to be done on the 21st to light up the cancerous Lymph Nodes in my arm pit to be removed the next morning in surgery.

Well, then the almost impossible happened. Houston Texas had a Winter Snow Storm the day

before my surgery! The 4th largest city in the USA shut down including both of the airports! That just happened to be the day I was supposed to have the Nuclear Injection 18 hrs prior to my surgery! So, everything was rescheduled for the 28th & 29th.

The surgery was a success and I'm home recovering. My last day at work was January 18th and my short term disability didn't start until February 5th because of the snow storm week and then their 8 day waiting period. They pay 60% of your weekly pay and I received my 1st pmt today and it was for 3 days instead of 5 because of the date my claim started. My next step is Radiation Treatments after I heal from the surgery. It will be Monday thru Friday for 6 weeks. Then a daily estrogen blocker pill for 5 Years. The Radiation co-pay alone is $55 daily and has to be paid everyday M-F for 6 weeks. That alone is $1,650. I don't have a return to work date yet, and the bills are starting to pile up. I don't want to ruin my credit, but I'm in financial dire straits. It's hard for me to ask for help. It's taken me weeks to make the necessary decision to create this source of help. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you in advance for any donation. Please share this link. May God bless you.
