For those of you who don't know me, my name is Alex, and I'm the one man show behind BreakThru Brewing Company. For nearly four years I've been writing recipes, sourcing ingredients, brewing, packaging, selling, delivering, marketing, and networking our sublet brewery in efforts to push us towards the ultimate goal of opening our own production brewery. All of this being done outside working full time for a local production brewery 40 plus hours per week. In June of 2023 we began a six month period where we were unable to produce any beer as our host brewery purchased a new brewhouse, delivery was delayed, and scheduling conflicts kept pushing batches back week after week. This caused a slow drain of all the savings we'd built up over the previous few years, and even forced us to use personal funds to cover some of the business expenses to keep things going. Fortunately, over the past year or so there has been a great shift in both the attention our beers have been getting both locally, nationally, and internationally, as well as our vision for what comes next for BreakThru. We've realized a production brewery is still far in the future for us, with two young kids and the reality of cost of living in the Seattle area, putting everything on the line to receive 7 figures of funding isn't a risk we're able to take. Rather, and what brings us here is to ask for some aid from the people we care about most, and the ones that have given us the growing support we've seen over the past three and half years. We are actively looking for a modest space to transform into the BreakThru Taproom in the greater Seattle area where we can house our beers, and offer you, the customers the environment we've always intended our beers to be enjoyed in.
One of the most valuable tools to portray how our beers are being received by the public is the ratings app; Untappd. BreakThru holds a lifelong aggregate rating of 4.15 (8/2/24) placing it as the SECOND highest rated brewery in Western Washington behind Floodland and just slightly above heavyweights Great Notion (Portland, OR) and Holy Mountain (Seattle). However, if you consider approximately just the last year of production, back to June of 2023, 10 beers have been released; keep in mind our six-month hiatus during the brewhouse shutdown, with an average Untappd rating of 4.31. These ratings prove that an increasing amount of the public are not only finding our beers, but enjoying them and rating them highly, creating the irrationally loyal following we've been searching for. I have big plans and a strong vision for what BreakThru Brewing will be for the Seattle craft beer community and beyond.
