Brayden Munroe, my nephew, is facing an unimaginable challenge. Just two weeks ago, he abruptly and unexpectedly lost his vision. After a series of urgent medical tests, doctors discovered a spinal tumor blocking the circulation and reabsorption of his cerebral spinal fluid. Brayden underwent a major surgery where his brain was opened and a drain was put in place. He spent days in the ICU, and today he was transferred to Yale to receive further treatment from a specialist. The journey has been overwhelming, filled with uncertainty and fear for Brayden and his family.
Brayden’s parents have been by his side every step of the way, advocating for him and making critical medical decisions as he fights to regain his health. Because of the severity of his condition and the distance to the new hospital, they are unable to work, and the financial strain is growing. The funds raised will help cover mounting medical bills, living expenses, and travel costs, so Brayden’s family can focus on his recovery without the added stress of financial worries.
There are so many unknowns ahead, but what I do know is that Brayden needs his parents with him, and they shouldn’t have to worry about missed work or unpaid bills. I believe in my community, and I believe in theirs. Together, we can help lighten the burden on their shoulders and give Brayden the best chance at recovery. Please consider supporting this fundraiser and sharing it with others who may be able to help.
