Support Braxton's Journey to Academic Excellence

UPDATE: We have the registration paid for, the hotel booked, and the flight booked. Still working on raising enough to cover food and car rental while we are down there. Cannot Thank You Enough for those who have contributed and shared I hope you had the chance to see him on Channel 12 News last night!

In 2019 our oldest Grandson came to us under an emergency placement through Social Services. He had a rough time with socializing with his peers, teachers, and running away from his classrooms. We were able to get him into counseling to help him with social interactions and be able to self regulate his emotions. We later found out that he has a form of high functioning autism. With the tools to better self regulate, he discovered he really loved school and started to excel.

At the end of 2021 we became Braxton's legal guardians.

In 3rd grade his teacher nominated him for the School Districts Challenge Magnet Program for advanced learners. He was selected for the program where they participate in an accelerated and differentiated curriculum with instruction focused on higher level cognitive skills, problem solving, logic and creativity. Where he has continued to excel.

Our Grandson's competition journey started with a quiz in Science class at his Middle School. We received notification from his School Case Worker that he had the top score in the school for the Science Bee and was eligible for the next level of competition which was an Online Regional Championship that took place on April 5, 2025.

When the scores came in from that competition we discovered Braxton was not only a Finalist but qualified for both National and International Championship through the International Academic Competitions, United States Division.

The 2025 International Academic Competitions Middle & Elementary School National Championships will take place from May 22-26, 2025 in Florida. The International Championship schedule, date, or location has not been announced as of today.

We would like to make his dream come true and be able to compete in one or both of these competitions. Unfortunately we are unable to financially do this on our own. We are hoping that you would be able to help us with this. I understand that some of you are not comfortable with donating via the Go Fund Me platform. If you wish to donate in person please feel free to contact me via private messenger or call me if you have my phone number. Please help him prove that “disabilities” don’t have to stop you from doing amazing things! Thank you!
