Support Brave Bridgette’s Battle

Donation protected
On behalf of the Bowman family, we invite you to offer support for little Bridgette, as she fights a DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma), an aggressive inoperable brainstem tumor. The utter devastation of this diagnosis is only worsened by the prognosis it carries. The family has been in this fight since September 20th, 2022. Bridgette’s left eye was crossing inward, and after a few eye appointments, an MRI was scheduled. The MRI Showed the mass, and our world was flipped upside down. Those of you who know the family, are aware that Ellen (Lauren and Jenny’s sister), passed away from a brain tumor 19 years ago. The shock that Bridgette’s diagnosis created is deep rooted, and compounded by past medical tragedies.

So far Bridgette has completed one round of radiation, and has shown some shrinkage, followed by what can be determined as growth or swelling.

Two weeks ago, Bridgette had to have a shunt put in to help with fluid buildup in her ventricles. She is still recovering from this procedure. We are in a race against time to get her treatment which can help her stay here longer, with improved quality of life (while we hope for a cure or better treatment options). The family has been giving their full focus to getting the best possible care for Bridgette and expenses are adding up. Working hours are being consumed with hospital/doctor visits and follow ups. We are purchasing trial medication from overseas, which also carries a very hefty price tag.

Bridgette is a VERY Brave little girl, who has already had to endure so much with her type one diabetes diagnosis two years ago, and this new shocking diagnosis has changed everything in an instant. As the family takes things one moment at a time, navigating this impossible scenario, and trying to live in the moment, the last thing they should have to struggle with is ability to pay for her treatment.

Thank you in advanced for your contributions, prayers, well wishes, and positivity. We have had immense support and love throughout this journey, and it helps to know we are not alone in this tragedy.

*****Very important******
Please use discretion when/if discussing this in the community and with your own children, Bridgette is only aware of her diagnosis in 8-year-old terms, and we do not want her to hear scary terms like “cancer” or “tumor”.
