Brantley started having what we thought were seizures around 3 months old and was diagnosed with epilepsy at around 7 months old. We have since been trying to get his medicine right to eliminate his seizure activity, but at only 10 months he had the worst seizure he has ever had at daycare. Thankfully, his daycare is a medical daycare facility and is trained in what to do in these circumstances, but they called me and I rushed to daycare from work. They ended up calling an ambulance and I rode with him to children's.
They intubated him, putting him on a ventilator to breathe for him. They moved him to the PICU at Cincinnati Children's. They removed the tube, but he seized again, so they replaced the tube and he was heavily sedated and remained on the tube for roughly one week. He also had a feeding tube, catheter and a central line placed. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks total. He has had multiple procedures and test to help him during this time. Unfortunately insurance has covered none of this for us. Anything you can donate helps ❤️
