My name is Samantha Arbuckle, and I’m Brant Arbuckle’s daughter. I hesitated to share this because it’s difficult to accept, but it’s time to face the reality. Brant Arbuckle, my father and a Veteran Marine , the strongest man I know, experienced multiple strokes in late June, leading to complete paralysis of his right side. He can't walk and is completely dependent.
Despite working hard in rehabilitation, he’s shown only small signs of improvement. We are hopeful that he will recover, but for now, he's bed-bound and unable to work for almost three months. His insurance no longer covers his nursing home stay, so Kristina exchanged the couch for a hospital bed and has been his full-time caregiver.
This means she hasn’t been able to work as much. This has created significant financial strain for them with medical bills and the inevitable loss of employee insurance coverage. My dad has always been incredibly selfless, and seeing him so helpless and suddenly disabled is incredibly tough.
I understand that times are tough financially for many, but above all, I ask for your prayers. Prayers for his brain to regain function, prayers for him to regain a sense of normalcy, and prayers for him to have more time to be the fun-loving grandpa he is to my two daughters.
It’s difficult to ask for help during desperate times, but if you've ever cared for my dad, or if he’s ever brought a smile to your face, now is the time to reach out to him, see him, call him, and let him know how you feel. This whole experience has been challenging for his mental health, as you can imagine. Above all, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. We need him to recover. We’re not ready to give up on a normal life yet. Thank you.
