Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Brandy Emerson, who is currently facing an incredibly difficult time due to serious medical issues that have turned her life upside down.
Brandy was diagnosed with an intense form of hyperthyroidism at a young age called Grave's Disease. Recently, she suffered something called a "thyroid storm" that not only brought physical and emotional pain to her and her family, but additionally a massive financial burden.
Due to the thyroid storm, Brandy has suffered a myriad of health complications. This storm caused Brandy to suffer full organ failure including the shut down of her liver, kidneys, and heart. Brandy suffered two heart attacks on her first night of hospital admission. She is currently dealing with muscle paralysis from the neck down and has had to go through 2 heart surgeries including getting a pacemaker, a feeding tube placed in her stomach a tracheostomy and breathing tube for her to be able to breathe with assistance of a ventilator. In addition to this, Brandy has also had to get a full thyroid removal surgery and will be on medication for the rest of her life.
On October 3rd, Brandy had to get three of her toes amputated on her left foot due to complications from poor blood flow from her weakened heart. These are just a few of the problems Brandy has had to deal with over the last few months. She was admitted to the ICU on 7/29 and is still suffering greatly. Brandy cannot speak but I know she would be eternally grateful for the people who have supported her and her family during this time.
Brandy has a long road ahead of her in terms of recovery and her rehabilitation process and her ability to work at this time is not possible.
I am asking for your help-whether it is $5 or $50, or simply sharing this campaign, every bit makes a difference and will go directly towards
- Medical bills and treatments
- Prescription medications
- Rent, utilities, and basic living expenses during recovery
- Vet bills/expenses for her dog, Khaleesi
In addition to bills and living expenses, Brandy owns a dog named Khaleesi in which she shares an incredible bond with. Khaleesi has been through everything with Brandy including her first thyroid storm in 2023. Khaleesi suffers intense skin allergies and chronic eye ulcers and the medication for her can be expensive; any additional donations can also be a great help to ensure the best life for Brandy and her best friend, Khaleesi.
Thank you for taking the time to read, donate, or share. It truly means the world.
With gratitude,
Adrienne (Andy) Courteau
