Hi my name is Brandy. I have a wife and two stepchildren. We just moved into a house not too long ago and I just completed my 6-month probationary period at my job and was starting the process of their engineering program when my life came to a halt in the early hours of a Thursday morning before my shift.

The pain I woke up to was excruciating and nothing like I had ever felt before in my life and with me being as young as I am (30), I wasn’t expecting to experience this at such a young age. Imagine how it feels when you hit your funny bone and it tingles but when this happened it sent a fiery wave through your eye and brain to the back of your head down through your arm and fingers hitting your knee like pins and needles down to your ankle and feeling like it’s too heavy for you to carry…that’s what I woke up to and am currently experiencing. I have spent 6 days in the hospital and 5 days in rehab, I have missed work/opportunities at work, time with my family, etc and I still don’t have a diagnosis of what’s happening to me. We’re hoping the spinal tap that was done will reveal more but until then, they say I could have had a stroke, a rare form of MS, or some sort of disorder of the brain and they don’t know if it’s spreading or getting bigger or if the damage is permanent. As of now, we are waiting and I am out of work with no answers yet.

I went from doing everything on my own, and being independent to using a walker, and having someone give me baths. So you can say I’ve had a complete lifestyle change. I stood 9+ hours a day on my feet, building appliances with my hands for my job that I can’t even do right now or probably won’t be able to do again and has left me homebound. Our life has been turned upside down and I have been trying to figure out what went wrong but I can’t, even the doctors can’t. So I’m asking if you have anything you can give to help support us. It would help with groceries, bills, rehabilitation, etc. It would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
