Craig and I got permission to go ahead and make Brandy’s health issue public. Brandy had surgery on Monday for a simple gallbladder removal. She stopped breathing twice in surgery and had (what we call) an episode of chest pain after surgery. Of course, with that surgery, the amount of gas that is in your body, that is what they thought it was, and she was discharged. On Tuesday morning, Brandy again had the pain and was taken to the hospital. After bloodwork, Brandy was sent to Crouse where she had a heart cath and is diagnosed with left side cardiomyopathy. Thursday, Brandy was discharged to home. She has been struggling with the two surgeries now in four short days. Yesterday, she was again taken to the hospital via ambulance, where she found out her heart is still extremely weak and is having increased stomach issues related to the gallbladder surgery.
For those of you who know this family, not to sound like all the other stories, this family has been there for many of us. They enjoy helping out when they can. I know that due to the multiple ambulance rides, hospital visits, and surgeries, the medical bills are adding up. Brandy is not able to return to work, of course, and Rich is considering taking time off as well to care for Brandy. Her condition right now is stable but, like it happened yesterday, can change in the blink of an eye.
This being said, we are starting this to raise at least the cost of the ambulance rides. Anything over is going directly to medical bills that are related to this week and whatever more she will have. Thank you in advance!
