Hi, I’m Brandon. So I’ll just state the facts. I was diagnosed with varicocele in the scrotum which only 15% of all men experience this. After 40 years I turned symptomatic which is due to injuries from sports to physical activity and damage to the groin and testicles. All though most do not experience symptoms. This makes it hard to walk if a lot of the times. I have to sit and lay with ice packs on the area for 15 mins or so and that only last maybe another 15 mins. Sometime I’m confined to the bed or couch due to my scrotum feeling like it’s being dragged around by a tow truck with 100 lbs kettle ball weights attached. My urologist Dr. Hedges OHSU say he needs to perform a microsurgery” billing code (55530) which “ surgery is the only option for this type of diagnosis. It is scheduled for November 20th and I received a call today saying that my insurance (OHP-oregons state insurance) denied this surgery because I’m older than 18. Due to this I can’t work. It’s very stressful. Some days I can’t take the pups out for a walk I have to set them on the run right in front of the house. So I have to pay their base fee ($5,308.80) out of pocket PRIOR to the surgery. Which I think is stupid due to it’s a diagnosis that can’t be fixed any other way not PT or natural remedies and it blocks me from making a living. My groin feels like there iron workers building a train station and major cramps which double me over and stops me in my tracks sometimes. To explain the procedure means he said he will have to remove the nerves from the spermatic cord and veins and then sever the section of the dilated veins. I am asking for any help towards this surgery please
