Support Brandon's Fight Against Meningitis

Update April 19th
Brandon was told today that he will not be able to come home before Easter. A few tears later, he was very happy to get the nasal packing out of his nose today.
Brandon has been having a lot of fluctuations in his mood since the 2nd operation. We were reassured that this should not be a long term issue and should resolve over time. He’s still just a little boy that has been through a lot, and he was so looking forward to seeing ALL his family for Easter, especially Cooper and Lettie.
our little guy could still use your prayers, he has a long road of appointments, test, imaging, and unfortunately we are still in the unknowns of what is to come.
Hawk, Lurie’s emotional support dog has been a godsend for Brandon. Hawk climbs into bed and lays by Brandon’s side, when the nurses have to do their job to help send Brandon back home to us. We are so blessed with, how our friends, and community have showed up and surrounded Brandon with, prayers, love, support, whether it be with, food, gift cards, by donating to this GFM, you have taken so much stress off the family’s shoulders. It allows Randi to take family leave, and focus her nursing skills on Brandon. There are mounting hospital bills, along with, paying the monthly insurance bills. It will help with the weekly doctor visits to Lurie’s children’s hospital, MRI’s, parking, gas, and much more.
Our main goal is to get Brandon back on his feet, and playing with his 9 year old friends. Unfortunately he will not be able to return to school this year, due to the PICC line, and his vulnerability to unwanted exposure of germs, bacteria. He will complete 3rd grade, at home.
Again we want to Thank each and everyone of you that have been lifting Brandon and the family up in your prayers. We couldn’t do this without the help and support from all of you.
God Bless you all

My 9-year-old grandson, Brandon, was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis on April 8th. He just had his second surgery today, April 17th, on his brain.

He is currently being cared for at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital in Chicago. His mom (my daughter) and his dad have been by his bedside 24/7.

Brandon has a big brother and a little sister at home being cared for by family at this time. Both Randi and Josh work full-time but have not been able to work since Brandon’s hospitalization. Needless to say, we, the family, have been trying to help as much as we can, but with this diagnosis, he will need many follow-up visits back and forth to the hospital in Chicago. We have never asked anyone outside of the family for help. But with this journey they are on, they will be 100% focused on Brandon’s recovery. Randi is able to take family leave time, unpaid. But Josh is an overnight truck driver and has not been able to work due to Brandon’s condition. Brandon has a long road ahead of him and it will require hooking him up to his IV pump several times a day, and once he is released from the hospital, many follow-up MRIs, CT scans, and blood work.

The family needs all our help. They need to pay monthly bills, along with all the extra costs for Brandon’s recovery. ❤️‍

Please help them so they can remain focused on Brandon getting through this. If you’re able to donate and take some of the worry off their minds, we would be very grateful.
If you’re not able to help with a monetary donation, please keep Brandon in your prayers, and feel free to share this post.
God Bless
