My name is Erika and I am creating this GoFundMe for my husband Brandon and I because he has just been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.

He was recently hospitalized because he had blood clots in his bladder. A CT scan that was done showed significant inflammation to his GI tract so he was transferred to a hospital who had a GI specialist so he could get a colonoscopy as soon as possible. It was during his colonoscopy that a tumor was discovered. His treatment plan includes chemotherapy, radiation and then eventual surgery and can take about 6-9 months.

Unfortunately, the financial impact of this diagnosis is overwhelming. Brandon being out of work for several months means a significant loss of income, all while our medical bills and everyday expenses continue to grow. We are doing everything we can to focus on recovery, but as his primary caregiver I will also lose income due to the time needed to take him to appointments and support him through treatment.

My husband is the strongest person I know, overcoming very difficult life circumstances so I know we will come out on the other end stronger, though the road ahead is long. Brandon has always taken such good care of me, it's now my time to take care of him.
