My brother, Brandon Mendez, was the victim of a terrible hit-and-run accident while on his 10-minute break at work. The car that struck him was being chased by police, and despite Brandon moving out of the way, the driver swerved intentionally to hit him. The impact sent Brandon flying 20 feet, causing him to lose his belongings and leaving him with life-threatening injuries. He suffered a fractured spine and skull, and the doctors had to remove his spleen. His aorta was torn, and he now has a stent to help him recover.

Brandon is facing a long road to recovery, and the medical bills are overwhelming. He also needs new glasses and dental work to fix his teeth, which were damaged in the accident.
