On Sunday, February 13th, senior student Brandon Guzman was rushed to Southeast Hospital. He was suffering chills, body aches, and consistent 11-day high-grade fever. He was diagnosed with the flu, an untreated bladder infection, and an unidentified abscess located in his pelvis. After undergoing several CT scans and X-rays, doctors were still left confused as to what the abscess was caused by. Brandon spent days in the hospital receiving general antibiotics and IV to fight off his fever, and to give doctors time to identify the best method to treat his case. After 5 days, Brandon was taken from his intensive care unit to be treated through a percutaneous drainage procedure. On Tuesday, February 22nd, Brandon was released from Southeast Hospital, under careful watch.
As with any medical emergency, the physical, emotional, and financial burden can be very taxing on a family. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Brandon has a tough journey ahead, especially being in his final semester of college, so all support and love is thoroughly appreciated. Thank you so much for your care.
