Support Brandon Gee's Medical Recovery

Asking for help. Many of you already know me but for those that don’t, let me introduce myself. I’m Valerie Crowe. My nephew (and Godson) is Brandon Gee. I am hoping to raise money to help Brandon with medical expenses associated with his recent illness.

Brandon has been through a lot during the past month. His illness started at the end of June with a viral infection that caused him to go to Urgent Care. Unfortunately, the virus got into his spinal fluid which started attacking his brain thus causing numerous problems. Brandon was incoherent, going in and out of consciousness, weak, his body temperature dropped to 92, and other issues. He was in the ER three times before being admitted into the hospital. He spent four days in ICU, two days in PCU, and then three days in a regular room. He was then moved to inpatient rehab which is where he remains today.

Brandon had numerous tests done which included an MRI of the brain, spinal tap, CT scans, an EEG, lab work, etc. He had several doctors working to find out what was causing his condition. He had a general physicians, neurologists, an infectious disease specialist, and a urologist. He was eventually diagnosed with aseptic (viral) meningitis.

Treatment has included antibiotics, fluids, and time for rest. He is now in rehab for PT, OT, and speech therapy.

When Brandon is eventually released, he will continue to have outpatient therapy and restrictions. It is unknown what additional treatment will be needed. It is also unclear when he will be able to drive or return to work.

I am trying to raise money to help with copays, medications, and out of pocket expenses associated with his treatment. Everything raised will go towards his medical expenses.
