Support Brandon Black’s Education at Howard University

Hello! I'm Brandon Black, a proud Urban Prep Bronzeville Campus graduate and a Howard University junior majoring in Political Science. I'm seeking your support to help me raise $15,000 to continue my transformative journey at Howard.

As a leading Historically Black College & University (HBCU), Howard University is pivotal to my personal and academic growth. In the U.S., only 14% of Black men hold a bachelor’s degree. A college education opens doors to better job opportunities, stronger family foundations, reduced interactions with the criminal justice system, and enables greater societal contributions. At Howard, these opportunities are within reach.

At Urban Prep, I graduated with honors and engaged in leadership roles such as Student Body President, Student Ambassador and National Honors Society member. Thanks to Urban Prep’s strong educational foundation and the mentorship I received (special Shout-Out to Mr. King and Mr. Bywater!), I've been able to thrive academically and personally.

At Howard, I've balanced a full course load with employment and leadership roles, such as serving as the NAACP chapter's Mentorship Coordinator, all while maintaining grades that earned me a Howard University Scholarship that covers a portion of my tuition.

I’m striving to raise $15,000 to cover the balance of my tuition, housing, and meal-plan for my sophomore year. This goal is crucial; I've exhausted all available scholarships, loans, and family contributions. My mother has given what she can, and my father is incarcerated. Without these funds, I face the possibility of having to discontinue my college education.
