Support Brandon and Kori's Journey to Recovery

I am Jeana Hancock. My son, Brandon, his wife, Kori, and their 2 children, Gunner & Stella, live in Englewood, FL. They survived Hurricane Ian in 2022 with a lot of damage to their home, yard, vehicles, etc. Everything on the outside was repaired, replaced, etc., but the house was livable. In August of this year, Brandon took on doing the inside improvements himself and worked the entire month of September, with help from some subs, replacing walls and redoing the floors. They were living in their camper trailer while doing so. Then came Helene and flooded their home, along with the PODS which held everything from inside their home. We laundered 30 loads of clothing and blankets, etc., and saved what we could. Very few photos were salvaged, but some were. The photo books of Kori and her mom, Janie, on a trip before she died were ruined, and that was Kori's breaking point. But, in true Brandon and Kori fashion, they turned around (with help from friends and family) and started in on removing all of the walls and getting to the point of where they were before. Then, two weeks later, along came Milton. They lost it all.

As a mother, I cannot explain how worried I have been about them...not just financially, but mentally. They are continuing to live in the RV and are trying to have the camping mentality with the kids, but the real world is that they are cramped up in a small space with a big dog, as well. Many have asked me what they need: clothing sizes, food, favorite toys, etc. They really don't have space for toys or any extras. They have to raise the house, which is going to be major construction, and rebuild the inside. Brandon will be doing a large part of the work to save money which means he will be working minimally on his business. They can't live in their RV on the property while this is being done. I don't know how long they can live in the RV offsite while all of this is going on, especially during the holidays. It would be difficult for them to rent a home and support 2 places. They are dealing with Fema and insurance, but it is not fast and not enough to cover all they are facing. They are starting over with everything. They need a financial boost.

This is all new to me...this entire situation, including asking for financial help. Had I invested in Home Depot stock years ago, I would handle this myself...but I didn't. They have been blessed to have a great support system and a village that surrounds them and have been there for them...hot meals, working hands, and moral support. They just need a bit more. I am amazed that their attitudes are still positive and they are seemingly happy. I know they are worn out!

Thank you for all of the prayers, love, and moral support that have been extended.
