Support Brandi's Recovery from Amputation
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brandi M. Hunter. I lost my limb back in 2022 due to sarcoma, a rare tissue cancer, growing on my foot. I ended up having my foot amputated because the tumor had spread through my foot. Since 2023, I have had a prosthetic leg. But every 1-2 times a year, I need a new socket because my limb shrinks. This can make walking uncomfortable and painful. When I am unable to walk, it limits my ability to do most things like take care of my 7-year-old daughter, walk short distances, and overall enjoy life.
A new socket can be costly even with insurance. For me, my out-of-pocket expense would be between $3,000-$5,000. This is not something I can afford. And I am way past getting a new one and have been wearing 3 socks on my limb, which makes wearing it cumbersome.
I am asking for donations so I can get fitted and be able to get a new socket so I can return to a “normal” life again.
I appreciate your support.
