Support Brandie's Fight Against Breast Cancer

Hi Everyone, my name is Miranda Doty. This is my first time organizing a fundraiser, and I hope it’s good enough... I am writing on behalf of a wonderful woman who has, in such a short time, impacted my life in leaps and bounds I’ve never dreamt of before. Her name is Brandie (Segatto) Guerrettaz. I can only imagine how many more lives she’s impacted outside of my own, and I’m hoping we can reach just as many people to show all our support for her and the long road that lies ahead of her.

Brandie is a proud single mom (my idol to say the least, she’s a boss) to 3 boys, Alex, Bryce, and Andrew. She is also well-established in her career, working as a Practice (Office) Manager for a dermatology office in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Brandie has spent her life and career working tirelessly towards achieving her goals and being the best mother for her boys, all while overcoming every obstacle and road bump possible.

Recently, Brandie received news that she has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer (Stage III, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma-- this cancer has been identified as Triple Negative & is more difficult to treat & overcome)... The road bumps and obstacles are different down this road, and now, she must set new goals to overcome and achieve while she battles breast cancer and begins her treatment.

Brandie was informed that she will need to undergo expensive diagnostics (scans, biopsies, therapies, etc.) along with 2 rounds of chemotherapy + immunotherapy (just to start). Her treatment plan will last a minimum of 6 months, starting 4/16/25 and will also require her to miss days/weeks of work and pay while she undergoes the treatments to rest and recuperate.

The medical bills have undoubtedly proven to be intense and overwhelming. We are expecting to see a $10,000 balance for the medical bills by just 3 months of treatment. As of present, Brandie has completed the preliminary work-up (a handful of biopsies, labs, MRI, bone scan, and CT scans) and has already reached an astonishing $3500 out-of-pocket bill.

The steep costs for treatment and medical care paired with the absence of being able to work and not being able to bring home regular income presents Brandie with a costly road ahead. This is the reason and purpose for writing my story, and we are hoping to raise funds to help ease the financial strain for this single momma. Not only financially support her but hopefully show her how big of a positive impact she has made in our lives... It’s a big feat for ‘us’ (she is quite frankly a walking angel—it's my opinion anyways), but I believe we can at minimum, try our very best to show her.
