On Friday evening, October 17th, Shawn and Whitney Embs and their 13-year-old daughter, Braelyn, and her cousin were in a catastrophic car accident in Bourbon County. Shawn (40) and Whitney (39) did not survive. Braelyn is currently hospitalized with multiple trauma injuries involving her spine and abdomen. She underwent spine surgery on Sunday (10/19) and has a long road to recovery. Her 24-year-old brother, Skyler (Shawn and Whitney’s son), has been tirelessly by her side at the hospital.

Many have asked how they can help, and we are so grateful. They will need significant support in so many ways moving forward. We have started a GoFundMe to help them financially with all of their current and future needs.

Immediate funds will be used to pay for Braelyn’s medical needs and recovery. Additional funds will be applied to her future college aspirations. Everyone who knows Braelyn knows what an incredibly talented and intelligent young woman she is. We want to make sure she has every resource available to heal and reach all of her goals.
