On December 20th, 2025, my husband Brad suffered a massive heart attack at home and lost consciousness. With our son and his girlfriend’s help, we called 911, and paramedics confirmed a STEMI and rushed him to the hospital. The ER doctor decided not to call the cardiologist in, instead he admitted him. The next morning at 6:15am, Brad went into cardiac arrest in my arms. A wonderful team performed CPR and shocked him multiple times, working on him for 45 minutes. He was taken to the CATH lab where he received a stent for a 100% blockage. Brad developed acute kidney failure, required dialysis, and spent days in a medically induced coma, but thankfully has no brain damage. Since then, he has had multiple hospitalizations due to pulmonary embolism, a blood clot in his leg, pneumonia, and congestive heart failure. He still has a very long road ahead of him.

The funds raised will help cover medical bills, travel costs for hospital visits (the hospital is an hour from our home), housing expenses, and lost income since I am unable to work while caring for Brad and driving him to doctor appointments. This has been a life-changing event for our family, and we are doing our best to navigate each day as it comes.

This was hard for us to do, to ask for help. Most of you that know us know we are private people who work and take care of our bills, but this isn’t something you can plan for. Brad had just retired a few days before his heart attack, and we’d planned on moving to a warmer climate, but that dream is on hold for the time being.
