I would like to take a minute to update everyone on Brad’s status.
Brad has undergone 21 surgeries with more to come, so here’s a little update on the battle these surgeries have faced.
This is one of the most severe cases of necrotizing pancreatitis the surgeons have ever seen.
Brad has had his gallbladder removed, the top portion of his colon, along with necrotic tissue surrounding the abdomen and all the vital organs. The bile from the pancreas has leaked out into the abdomen causing his intestines, stomach, and colon to be adhered to each other.
After his last surgery on October 22, the doctors have found that the necrosis has reached the pelvic floor of abdominal muscle on his left side. Multiple drain tubes are in place to get rid of the rest of the necrotic tissue. He has around 20% of his pancreas, and we pray that that 20% dies. The body will excrete it through the drain tubes.
Brad has a feeding tube that supplies his daily nutrition along with being able to eat clear liquids and ice chips. Brad has also had a trach placed, however, he breathes on his own with back up support of air as needed.
Brad has been a true fighter and remains in critical but stable condition. He faces a long recovery, and knowing that, he remains in good spirits!
He loves the Lord and knows that he will have mercy on him. We, the family ask for continued prayers.
With each day and surgery that pass the looming medical bills are continuing to pile up, any and all contributions to the go fund me are greatly appreciated.
