Hi everyone,
For those that don't know, I'm Kelly, Bradley's older sister. My family and I are humbly asking for your support in Bradley's long road to recovery from a motorcycle accident.
Anyone who knows Bradley knows how independent and hard-working he is. Starting at the age of 15, he attended high school in Korea and even spent his senior year living alone in a foreign country. After graduation, he attended American University in Washington D.C. Since graduating, Bradley has worked multiple jobs to support himself, including coaching, babysitting, dog walking, etc. All of which require independence and mobility.
On August 11th, Bradley was in a motorcycle accident resulting in significant injuries to his lower leg. Bradley has been in the hospital for over 2 weeks so far and has had 4 surgeries, with more to come. He will require care in the ICU for a few days after his next surgery, followed by an additional two weeks in the hospital at minimum. While we are uncertain of what is to come after his discharge, we do know that he has a very long road ahead of him. He will need around the clock care following discharge and will have significant physical limitations for months if not years. He will need many follow up appointments, potentially more surgeries, and a lot of rehabilitation to regain function in his foot. The doctors have been working diligently to not only save his foot, but to also give him the best quality of life moving forward.
Here is where we are asking for your help. Bradley relied on all of his jobs to support himself and maintain his independence. All of these jobs he can no longer do. We are grateful he has health insurance to help with his medical bills, but the support he will need is costly. His life has turned upside down overnight and we hope to support him in maintaining some stability.
Thank you for taking the time to read Bradley's journey. If you feel called to support him even if it's just prayers, kind words, or sharing his story, he and our family greatly appreciate it.
I will try to provide updates on this page as we know so many people are thinking about him and praying for him daily.
Kindest regards,
Kelly Albers (and the Darin family)
