My name is Dixie, and I am reaching out for help on behalf of my 12-year-old son, Braden. Just a week ago, our lives changed in an instant when Braden was hit by a truck while riding his bike. The accident left him with several spinal fractures, a compound fracture in his leg that required a metal pole, and his thumb had to be wired back together. He has already undergone surgery and may need more in the coming weeks. Right now, Braden is in a full body cast, a cervical collar, and has casts on his leg, arm, and hand. He is unable to attend school, and his recovery will be long and challenging.

As Braden’s mom, I am unable to return to work for at least three months so I can care for him around the clock. The financial strain of medical bills and everyday living expenses is overwhelming, and I am reaching out to our community for support.
