Support Brad DePlanche's Caregiving Journey

Hi, I’m Brad DePlanche. I retired from a theatre career to help my family during the Covid crisis. Since that time, I’ve been employed at Trader Joe’s in Ann Arbor, MI, to stay close to my family and move my mom into my home. She had a stroke about six weeks ago, and with her health declining, I have found it best to take a leave from my job to be a full-time caregiver for her needs. I will be losing my health insurance and much income as a result, but I know in the end it will be worth every single thing. We have called upon a hospice provider, but they only come once a week, and since I’m on my own, this will help. I’m trying to stay upbeat and positive for my mom. As she declines, we have a special bond and I love her with all of my heart.
