BOUND - A SC Film Commission Long Lens Film
BOUND is a YA psychological thriller with a clean yet intense tone that appeals to both teen and adult audiences, centered on identity, guilt, and truth through the revelation of identical twin brothers torn apart by a hidden crime. Davin Key is a celebrated high school basketball champion, while his twin, Devin, vanished years earlier after a traumatic night at a secluded lake house, believed by the town to be dead or a runaway and by their friends to have died because of them. On the day of Davin’s championship celebration, Devin unexpectedly returns, triggering rising tension as Davin senses something is wrong, his friends deny it, and his girlfriend Zora is pulled into an increasingly unsettling mystery. As the truth unfolds, it is revealed that Devin was never killed, but was betrayed by their trusted mentor, Coach Tapper Doolittle, who used criminal connections to sell Devin into trafficking and manipulated the boys into believing they caused his death, silencing them through guilt.
The film culminates in a powerful confrontation at the lake house where the twins and their friends expose the traffickers, force a confession, and bring law enforcement to the scene, leading to arrests, Devin’s reunion with his family, and Davin’s release from years of manufactured shame. The story closes with a chilling final note that confirms the trafficking operation extends beyond a single villain, positioning BOUND as both a gripping thriller and a platform for meaningful social impact.
Why it works commercially:BOUND delivers a high concept hook, twin reveal, and constant suspense, while grounding the thriller in real stakes. It is contained and producible, with a limited set of locations, strong roles for marketable talent, and a clear social impact angle that supports outreach, partnerships, and community screenings.
What it impacts:BOUND raises awareness about human trafficking and coercion without glamorizing exploitation. It highlights how systems of abuse thrive on silence, and how healing begins when truth is finally spoken. Also, we will enhance the film workforce in SC and beyond.
How proceeds will be used:Donated funds support production and post, with a clear plan for festival and sales strategy, plus impact distribution pathways through nonprofit and community partners.
Where it can be distributed:Teen thriller suspense with a socially grounded message, designed to travel across streaming, limited theatrical, and impact circuits, with potential for a continuation due to the larger network tag.
With your donation: This story can move from page to screen so that together we help bring an important, timely film to fruition and create lasting awareness that protects and empowers young lives.
