Help Bring Boston’s First Women’s Sports Bar to Life
Boston is one of the greatest sports cities in the world—yet it still doesn’t have a bar dedicated to women’s sports, only a limited number of venues identified as inclusive viewing spaces.
We’re changing that.
We’re working to open Boston’s first women’s sports bar, The Sports Bra Boston, inspired by the groundbreaking original in Portland, Oregon. This will be a space where women’s athletics are not an afterthought, but the main event—on every screen, every day. This business isn’t just about a hospitality venture; it’s a movement toward changing who sports culture is built for–and who gets to feel at home in it.
This project is no longer just a dream. IT’S HAPPENING!!!
Where We Are Right Now
Over the past year, we’ve made real, tangible progress:
- Secured franchise rights and official brand alignment
- Built a local ownership and leadership team
- Developed detailed financial models and investor materials
- Selected a site and are actively working to finalize the leasing agreement (once this is done we can announce location and anticipated opening date!!)
- Growing community partnerships and local momentum
We are now in the most critical and expensive phase—the stretch between “approved concept” and “doors open.”

Your contributions directly help cover essential startup costs that don’t always qualify for traditional loans or investor funding, including:
- Permits, licenses, and legal fees required to open in Boston
- Architectural plans and design work for any necessary updates to the space
- Broadcast and AV infrastructure needs for broadcasting all women’s sports channels
- Initial merchandise production for Boston specific apparel
- Community events and launch activations
- League fees and partnerships with collegiate and professional women’s sports organizations

Our Story
It all started with a group chat — green bubbles lighting up during March Madness 2022. Our crew of athletes, educators, leaders, planners and fans - swapped brackets, shared hot takes, and engaged in friendly banter—all fueled by our love of the game. We came together for one thing: the NCAA Women’s Final Four.
As time moved on, the exchange turned into traditions—watch parties, annual meetups, late-night debates not just about who would win, but why it mattered. Why weren’t there more spaces where women’s sports took center stage? Why did we always have to ask to turn on the sound?
For over a year now, our passionate team—known to many in our community as Watch With Us Boston —has been bringing fans together through watch parties and sports-focused events across the city and beyond. We’ve felt the energy, the need, the hunger for a space where women’s sports aren’t the afterthought—they're the main event. We are grateful to the community partners and supporters who have joined us in our efforts to create these necessary spaces.
Now, we are gearing up for something even bigger! Our team, turned ownership group, founded BOS IX, LLC, an independently owned and operated franchisee of The Sports Bra . As an independently owned and operated franchisee, BOS IX, LLC is raising funds to open The Sports Bra Boston to bring the city the first dedicated space to celebrate women's sports. Our goal? To bring this powerful vision of a home for the fans, the players, the dreamers, and the doers, to life!
It’s more than a bar. It’s a long-overdue space where the love of the game meets the power of belonging.
