Hello, my name is Claire and I’m reaching out to the community for help. Our beloved 9-year-old Pekingese, Boshco, has been diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a condition that is causing him severe pain and limiting his ability to move. Boshco has always been an active and playful dog who loved going on adventures with our family. It breaks our hearts to see him suffering now, unable to even walk around the house. He is more than just a pet—he’s a member of our family, and we want to do everything we can to give him the chance at a full recovery.

IVDD is a serious spinal condition where the discs in the spine compresses on nerves, causing pain, weakness, and eventually paralysis. Boshco has been suffering for some time now, and his condition has worsened, with partial paralysis in his hind legs. After a consultation with the neurologist, Boshco will require an MRI to further assess the severity of his condition, followed by surgery to give him the best chance of recovery. Without these procedures, Boshco's pain will only increase, and he may lose his ability to walk.
