Hi! My name is Bosco! My Wag'n World foster family really needs your help with my medical expenses to get all better so my future FURever family has no worries when they finally find me! Please donate if you can! Share everywhere if you are either able or unable to donate because sharing is a huge help too and it could possibly help me find my family!
From the fosters, Wag'n World (doggy daycare, boarding, grooming facility in Houston, TX)-
Bosco is a Boxer mix that is about 3 years old to the vet's best estimate. He is neutered and fully vaccinated. He is currently HW+, but started his injection treatments on September 9th.
A little more about how we came to be Bosco's "fosters." In early February this year, he had wandered onto our property in the Heights, and we took him to get vaccinated and to check for a chip. No chip. We created flyers through Petco Love Lost and posted them everywhere in nearby neighborhoods. We posted on Nextdoor, printed out his picture, and had it on our front desk so anyone who came in could share as we desperately searched to find his owners. We had him for over 2 months when we finally got a hit on the Petco Love Lost listing. After confirming ownership, the owners came to pick him up 3 days later.
Fast forward to a few weeks later at the end of May, a good Samaritan saw him emaciated and covered in fleas wandering the streets nearby and brought him to us. We gave him multiple flea baths and cleared those out right away and immediately got in touch with the owners to let them know we had him and to pick him up ASAP because he looked like he'd been roaming for a while. A few days later after several follow up messages and calls to the owners, they proceeded to claim that he was not their dog and that they only picked him up for the "real owner" and that the "real owner did not want him anymore." Given the state he was in and the pathetic excuses and explanations, we no longer pursued his "owners." Wag'n World has taken over his care and housing until we can find him a new caring home. Bosco was immediately taken to the vet again to establish care and get on all the necessary preventatives when he tested positive for heart worms. Then we discovered he had intestinal parasites and got him treated for that and got him back to a healthy weight to prepare him to receive treatment to get rid of his heart worms.
We have been trying to find Bosco a loving home, but it breaks our hearts that we have had little to no interest. We bought a listing on AdoptAPet with no hits as well. Despite all of these tribulations, Bosco is truly the bestest good boy and LOVES human attention and cuddles. With the people he loves most, he is known to do little affectionate nibbles. He loves to play and gets zoomies. He loves to roll over and give us his belly with happy wiggles and is an all-around super happy guy. When we had him the first time around, he was healthy. We did try him in our daycare group with other dogs his size, and he did well while there were only 3-4 dogs in the group, but once more dogs were being introduced, he started to get overwhelmed. Since then, we have had to keep him separated from others to ensure his comfort. We believe he would do best being a single dog in a home. An active, experienced adopter would be preferable as he is still young and needs a lot of attention. Although, we know he would love downtime on the couch or bed with his human since he is such an affectionate cuddle-bug. We do not know how his prey drive is (smaller dogs, cats, or kids) as we've only had him with dogs similar to his size.
While we absolutely love Bosco, living in a kennel for any extended amount of time is not the life anyone would choose for this lovable goof. He deserves a loving and happy home to call his own.
