Please support the Bosangani Festival in Kinshasa, which is funded by Jolie Ngemi Raymond – a multitalented dancer, choreographer and teacher from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who has performed and presented her work across Europe where she is based. Your support is invaluable in helping to run the festival and cover some of the administrative and logistical costs. Organizing such an event each year in Congo is becoming increasingly difficult due to decreasing institutional support and funding opportunities, as well as higher rental prices and travel costs. With increasing participation from local dancers since 2020, the Bosangani Festival has become one of the largest dance events in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

'Bosangani' means 'gathering' in Lingala, one of the DRC's four national languages. Over the years, the festival has provided local dancers with opportunities to take part in workshops and masterclasses led by international and local mentors, as well as professional shows, concerts, constructive debates and urban performances. These have all helped the festival reach new audiences.

Despite receiving some financial support from international partners and institutions last year, it is crucial that we help Jolie raise additional funds to cover the festival's extra costs and support the dancers' travel expenses. Even small contributions can make a big difference, so please donate whatever you can.

The funds will be sent to the bank account of the AUC Association handled by Vera Tutu production manager for the organization set up by Jolie Ngemi to support the festival. This will ensure that all transfers are completed easily and sent to Bosangani's local account in Kinshasa. Thank you for your help.
