Hi everyone, my name is Catherine and I’m here asking for help for my sweet girl Bo’s vet bills.
Early this morning (2/28), Bo had to be put to sleep. Her little body just couldn’t fight off the pneumonia any longer. I’m completely heartbroken. Bo was my whole world, my heart, and my shadow. She was a sassy little corgi who greeted me every morning with excitement, cuddled me when I was sad, and made every day brighter just by being herself.
Just a few days ago she was perfectly fine and full of energy, and then suddenly she became stiff and couldn’t walk, eat, drink, or even use the bathroom. Our vet first thought it might just be gas pushing on her arthritic back, but it turned out to be so much more serious.
After several days in the ICU, we learned that Bo had developed pneumonia from being unable to move, along with aspiration from nausea caused by her pain medicine. She was also fighting an autoimmune condition that caused severe joint pain and made it hard for her to stand or walk. Even with treatment, her little body was just too tired to keep fighting.
The bills from her care are more than I can handle right now. I am a recent college graduate and I’m between jobs and have been searching and interviewing for months in this tough job market. I could barely afford my own bills before all this, but I couldn’t let her suffer without trying everything possible.
Anything helps, even the smallest donation or just sharing this page. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported Bo and me through this. She was so loved, and she’ll always be my baby girl.
