Help Save Boone’s Life

Hi everyone, my name is Kyla, and I’m a PA student with the privilege of fostering an incredible 10-month-old Sheepadoodle named Boone through a shelter. Boone is a sweet, loving puppy who has already overcome so much in his short life. He was born with an intrahepatic liver shunt—a condition that prevents his blood from being filtered through his liver. Without this filtration, toxins build up in his body, leading to serious complications like seizures, neurocognitive issues, and eventually, organ failure.

When I first took Boone in, the shelter had planned to cover the costs of his life-saving surgery so I could adopt him and give him the loving forever home he deserves. However, over the last six months, their circumstances changed, and they are no longer able to contribute to the cost of the procedure. Boone currently takes three medications three times a day, which are helping him for now, but this condition is progressive. Without surgery, his prognosis is grim, and he likely won’t live beyond another year.

The surgery Boone needs offers him a second chance—a chance to grow, thrive, and bring joy to the people around him for years to come. Unfortunately, as a full-time student without an income, I simply can’t afford the cost of the procedure on my own.
