Hey folks, Hurricane Helene wiped me out. My house, stuff, and my woodworking shop tools that I use to build canoes, kayaks, paddles, and refurbish antiques—all my tools to make a living—are gone. I am 63 years old. I have lived in the Boone area since 1982. I have been inspired by local folk craft and have always made crafty things out of wood and fibers. The older Boone residents will remember the crochet hats I made in the '80s and early '90s. I also learned old-time mountain fiddling. Thank you all very much. I am hoping to buy a bus or pay rent till we can fix house which had 5 feet of muddy water in it I have removed sheet rock and some of the hardwood flooring it is going to take alot of work to put it back to liveable again that is why I am raising the amount.
