Culinary Skills for Second Chances
Tax deductible
We’re Books In Bars, a nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives through access to education, even in the most unlikely of places. Our latest initiative is launching a culinary education program at Anson Correctional Institution, and we need your help to make it happen.
Our Goal: We’re raising $12,271 to purchase 15 Dell Latitude 3450 Laptops to support this new startup program. These laptops will serve as the foundation for delivering interactive culinary training, digital coursework, and essential food safety certifications to incarcerated students ready for a second chance.
Why It Matters: Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and create a better future. Culinary skills are not just about cooking — they’re about discipline, creativity, and employability. With your support, we can equip individuals with the tools they need to reenter society with confidence, purpose, and the skills to thrive.
Your Impact:
$800 provides a full laptop setup for one student.
$150 helps us purchase needed software and learning resources.
Any amount brings us closer to a fully equipped classroom.
Let's turn bars into bridges. Help us change lives one recipe, one class, and one laptop at a time.
Thank you for being part of this movement.
Donate today. Share widely. Support second chances.
