Hello, my name is Liz G. On Oct 15th, I was out of town when I received a call at 3:46 am from my roommates saying that they were taking my 13-year-old cat, Boo Boo, to the emergency vet. He had stopped eating, was barely drinking water, stopped using his litter box, and was obviously in pain when moving around. A month or so before this, we had all noticed Boo Boo started losing a lot of weight really fast, but we all assumed it was because he was getting older. However, on this night/morning, the Vet informed me that his liver is actually starting to fail him.
After speaking with the Vet over the phone and given my options, I decided the best option is sadly to let my boy go, but I didn't want to do it while I was out of town. I had my roommates pick up some medication to ease his pain and to help stimulate his hunger in the meantime. As of now, Boo Boo is still with me, but he's getting worse as the days go by.
Today, I'm here to ask for assistance in putting my sweet Boo Boo to rest. He's given me 13 years of love and companionship, and I can't bear to see him wither away slowly like this.
My base goal of $300 is to help fund his cremation, so I can still have his ashes. If I happen to reach over that goal, everything extra will be to pay back my roommates for taking him to the vet and getting his medication, which was another $950. I'll be more than happy just to make sure Boo Boo isn't in pain anymore.
