Support Bonnie's Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

Spende geschützt
It’s November 1st, 2024, my sister Bonnie’s 68th birthday. She’s being admitted into the ER at UCI Medical Center as I write this.
On September 18th she was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia along with severe esophagitis, which explained gastrointestinal issues she’d been struggling with for several months—since the diagnosis she’s lost over 40 pounds due to ingesting complications caused by the hernia. She also had fluid in her abdomen and around her lung that was sent to pathology.

Sadly, the diagnosis came back ovarian cancer, stage 4. We are heartbroken. We just lost our beloved sister, Deborah Tobola, 16 days ago to ovarian cancer. As I sit in her hospital room I see my beautiful sister and best friend fighting, not just cancer, but fighting to keep any food or water down. Losing 40 pounds in just two months has left her body extremely weak and malnourished, not how one would hope to start the fight for their life.

Bonnie is pursuing integrative medical treatment at a facility called “Cancer Center for Healing” at Center For New Medicine in Irvine. We are hoping with that treatment she can eat and hydrate regularly and boost her immune system—to build her body back up to the point of sufficient nourishment in order to actually combat the cancer. This integrative treatment is very costly and not covered by insurance. We’ve exhausted every avenue available, yet there is far more that will need to be accounted for.

Bonnie has uprooted her new life with her husband in Idaho and moved back to Southern California to pursue this treatment, moving in with her youngest daughter and her family. In the few weeks she has been in SoCal there have been countless doctor appointments, multiple ER visits and now two hospital stays. We are all eager to get her body to a place where it can withstand this new treatment and begin her fight against the cancer.

We’re asking for support so Bonnie can get the treatment she needs. If you know Bonnie, you love her! She’s gracious, loving, kind, supportive and fun! She’s a wonderful Mom, Nonnie, sister and friend. Her faith is fierce, and she trusts in a mighty God, knowing He is a miracle worker. If you’re unable to support her financially we value and appreciate your prayer support.

Thank you so much in advance for anything you can offer, her kids and I are eternally grateful for any help you’re able to give. And please do keep Bonnie in your prayers, your positivity and God’s grace are blessings she’ll treasure on the path to her healing.

“Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
2 Corinthians 12:8-10
