Help Bonnie and Mike With Medical Expenses

Dear friends and family,

I am raising funds for my sister, Bonnie, and her husband, Mike. To put it mildly, 2024 has been a rough year for them medically. In the spring, Mike was diagnosed with lymphoma. More recently, on October 19, Bonnie fell and suffered a severe spinal cord injury.

The money raised will be for short and long term expenses. In January, Mike has 3 weeks of radiation treatments at Mayo in Minnesota; he will be staying at an extended stay hotel for those 3 weeks. These treatments are the final steps of the last 6 months of monthly chemo sessions every 4 weeks in Minnesota.

When Bonnie fell, she suffered a severe injury to her C5 vertebra. She is at a rehabilitation center in Chicago with a release date in mid-December. As a result of her accident, she is currently confined to a wheelchair with limited use of her arms and no use of her legs. Unfortunately, their home is not "wheelchair friendly" and will require renovations to make the first floor usable. When Bonnie leaves the rehab center she will have to stay at a nursing facility until the work at the house is completed. She will need intense therapy for many months. The costs for both the work at the house and her stay at a facility will be not be covered by insurance.

We are asking for your help to cover medical costs, rehabilitation, temporary housing and renovation to their home. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward recovery and expenses.
