My son Bobby has been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma embryonal stage I. On Christmas Day, I noticed his testicle was enlarged and took him to Banner Gateway ER, where we learned he had a mass in his testicle. The next day, we were admitted to Phoenix Children’s and Bobby had his tumor and testicle removed. On January 7th, biopsy results came back—a parent's worst nightmare: Rhabdomyosarcoma embryonal Stage 1. Bobby was admitted again to Phoenix Children’s to have surgery to place his port and start chemotherapy.
I thank God daily for my son, for allowing him to wake up each day, for the breath in his lungs, and for carrying us through these difficult times. It’s hard for me to ask for help, but you really need a village when your child is going through chemotherapy. The cost of medical bills, mortgage, missing work, and daily expenses add up quickly. Bobby is not able to be at daycare during his treatment, so funds will be used to pay for medical bills and a caregiver to help us through this journey.
Thank you so much for all the prayers, donations, love, and support you have shown for my son Bobby. Our family is so grateful to be part of a community that is so kind. Your support means the world to us as we fight alongside Bobby.
