I’m Bobby Wesson and you’ve probably read about my Chronic kidney disease (CKD). I’ve been fighting CKD for more than 13 years, without any success, but my doctors here in Utah just gave me some great news today that I want to share with you. Like so many Americans I’m underinsured and forced to make co-payments out of my own pocket for every single test, procedure and surgery. But I’ve recently been selected to be part of a clinical trial out of hundreds of people across the country that will help restore one of my deteriorating kidneys that will lead to surgery to stabilize my condition.
The clinic trial and surgery will be paid for by the Ronald Reagan Medical Center at UCLA, and all medical costs will be covered with no copayments. I need to raise funds to cover my travel costs to and from my home in Utah to LA to pay for living expenses while on campus in Los Angeles (I’m going to be an outpatient) and for my meals and other expenses I may incur, while I’m not in the hospital, for approximately 14 days.
I hope that you will support this exciting opportunity for me, which is also a final attempt at resolving this problem before my kidney needs to be removed. For me, this is about life extension, and your donation through my GoFundMe would mean the world to me.
I should let you know that I’m scheduled to check into UCLA on Monday, October 13th, so I’m trying to raise the total amount by October 31st.
