Bobby Lee is an 80-year-old friend whose kindness and dedication have touched everyone he meets. After retiring, Bobby Lee was looking forward to a well-earned rest, but when his daughter became seriously ill and needed surgery in February 2025, he returned to work as a travel bus driver for university athletic teams to help pay her mounting medical bills. That’s how I met Bobby Lee—he was driving my softball team home from a tournament in North Carolina, and his warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on all of us.

Bobby Lee’s daughter faced serious complications after her surgery, requiring extended hospital stays and constant care. Bobby Lee took time off work to care for her, but the challenges didn’t stop there. In late May, Bobby Lee suffered a heart attack and had to cancel his next bus trip, stepping away from work to recover. As he tried to return, he suffered a fall that resulted in a torn hamstring and multiple tendon injuries in his knee and shoulder. Meanwhile, his daughter was hospitalized again over Christmas for a 10-hour surgery. Now, Bobby Lee is undergoing physical therapy for his injuries, all while worrying about his daughter’s ongoing health and the overwhelming medical bills they both face.

All funds raised will go directly to Bobby Lee to help cover both his and his daughter’s medical expenses. My hope is that with enough support, Bobby Lee can finally return to retirement and not have to work himself to exhaustion just to keep up with these bills. Bobby Lee is one of the most amazing and kind souls I have ever met, and he and his daughter don’t deserve to struggle as they have. I believe everything happens for a reason, and I was lucky enough to meet him so I can help.
