Robert “Bobby” Larisa is a devoted husband and proud father of four: Hailee, Ava, Aiden, and Jayden. For the past 16 years, he has shared a loving marriage with his wife, Amanda “Mandi” Larisa. Bobby is a deeply dedicated family man who is always there for his children, supporting them in all they do academically and athletically, and making sure they never miss an opportunity to participate and thrive.

In June 2019, Bobby’s life changed dramatically when he suffered an episode of ventricular tachycardia and was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He underwent placement of an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator), which he jokingly nicknamed “Wi-Fi,” and began adapting to a new reality filled with medications, medical appointments, and major lifestyle changes. At the time, Bobby was serving as a firefighter with the Barrington Fire Department, but his diagnosis forced him to step away from the career he loved. Determined to continue serving others, he transitioned into a role as a Public Safety Communicator and later returned to patient care with Alert Ambulance. In 2022, Bobby found a new home at Fall River EMS, where he proudly serves the city as an EMT and the members of the department as the Shop Steward, for the Professional Paramedics of Fall River, AFSCME L1202.

Since then, Bobby’s medical journey has been filled with ongoing challenges. He has endured multiple hospitalizations since. More recently, another serious bout of ventricular tachycardia that required hospitalization and an ablation procedure.

Through every setback, Bobby has shown extraordinary strength and resilience, returning to work and continuing to care for and provide for his family. But the repeated hospitalizations, driving restrictions, and time away from work have placed a heavy financial burden on the Larisa family, including mounting medical bills and the exhaustion of his accrued time off.

Most recently, Bobby was hospitalized once again and is now home recovering, focusing on healing and on being present for his wife and children. His family has always been one that gives back to others and supports their community in times of need. They have also endured tremendous personal loss, including the passing of Steve, Bobby’s stepfather, from COVID complications and just four months ago, the loss of his father, who had a complex cardiac history.
