Support Bobby Jameson's Heart Surgery Recovery
Donation protected
Hello All,
Our dear friend and favorite center back Bobby Jameson (‘13) has recently received life-altering news: he has a congenital heart defect. While symptom-free for now, this condition—severe Mitral Valve Prolapse with Severe Grade Regurgitation—could lead to slow heart deterioration and, ultimately, heart failure if left untreated. The defect, which typically manifests in people much older, has unfortunately come early for Bob, requiring immediate attention.
The good news is that Bobby’s condition is repairable and he will undergo surgery on Monday January 13th in Boston. The procedure, which may involve a single or double bypass, boasts a high success rate and he will be in fantastic hands. Once completed, Bobby will be able to enjoy a completely normal quality of life and life expectancy.
However, the road to recovery comes with significant financial burdens while also balancing the growth of his family. Bob and Lindsey have two young girls at home, Maeve (3) and Sloane (2). Between the costs of surgery, hospitalization, post-operative care, and the challenges of having 2 young girls, expenses are tight. That’s why I am reaching out to our WNE Soccer family to come together and raise a few dollars to help Bobby and his family through these tough times. Insurance is covering a good chunk of the surgery but because of the complexity there is a significant out of pocket cost.
I know this is a tough time coming off the holidays but any dollar amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated. I know this will mean the world to Bobby and Lindsey. WNE was such a huge part of their lives. Bob was, and will always be, the ultimate teammate and he would be doing the same thing if this was one of us.
I am going to leave this open for a week and then will present whatever is raised to Bob and Lindsey once Bob is back home. Bob is expected to be in the hospital for 2-4 days before heading home. He has a few months ahead of him of recovery and getting back to 100%. I would ask you keep this between us for now and I will inform you all once I have delivered the gift.
Wishing you and your families well!
Go On!
