Hello, my name is Phil Rizzo, and I'm fundraising for a friend that needs immediate financial support to help with living expenses for Food, Shelter, Transportation and Physical Assistance.
I've known Bobby for over 40 years. We were wrestling teammates team at Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, FL.
Bobby is an Army Veteran. He proudly served as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division.
Out of service, he owned a landscaping business and was a high school wrestling coach for over 20 years. Bobby was a robust role model and positively influenced the hundreds of young men he coached.
Recently Bobby has been hospitalized several times with liver problems, fatigue and wound infections. After spending more than a month in the hospital, Bobby had several liters of fluid drained from his stomach. He now needs this procedure to be performed 2x a month for the foreseeable future. He is also in need of knee surgery on both knees.
Bobby lost his job when he was in the hospital for so long, and now he cannot work. We're hoping that he will qualify for disability, but that can be a lengthy process and is not guaranteed.
Bobby's need is immediate! It breaks my heart to see this good man, always known to be strong, kind and self-reliant, unable to support himself. He needs our help to survive. Doing nothing is not an option.
It is my goal to raise $25,000 to support Bobby.
To raise awareness for the Support Bobby Damron GoFundMe Campaign, I created and will complete the "Bobby D. Challenge." Ultimate Fitness Challenge. Check out the Facebook link here https://tinyurl.com/bobbydchallenge . I previously completed a 30-day, 30,000 push-up challenge for a GoFundMe challenge. This challenge will be more difficult.
Thank you in advance for your Support, Consideration & Prayers!
