Bobbie Marie, the daughter of Riley and Titus Casner, was born on February 11th and has already been through more than most people will in a lifetime. She is currently at Duke receiving care for a severe congenital heart defect.
Her diagnosis is complex. Her heart is on the right side of her chest (dextrocardia), both major arteries come from the same side of her heart (double outlet right ventricle), the valve that should send blood to her lungs didn’t form properly (pulmonary atresia), and she has a hole between the lower chambers of her heart (ventricular septal defect).
In just a few short weeks, Bobbie has had stents placed, been in and out of the ICU, required a Life Flight helicopter transport, and has already undergone open heart surgery to place a shunt to help increase blood flow to her lungs. She has needed a constant, high level of care throughout it all.
She will need another open heart surgery within her first year, along with additional procedures down the road. She will also require ongoing follow-up care, support with oxygen and feeding, and close monitoring as she grows.
She is already so tough, and we are so proud of her.
If you feel led to give, donations will go directly toward Bobbie’s medical bills and the ongoing care she will need. Most of all, we appreciate your thoughts and prayers for Bobbie as she continues to fight.
Thank you so much for the support.
