In December of last year my dad (finally) decided to undergo hip surgery after several months of back pain and years of joint pain. He struggled to recover post-op and on December 31st went to Glens Falls Hospital because he could no longer ambulate well on his own. He was quickly brought to Albany Med due to several cancerous masses. Before we knew it he was in an emergency spinal surgery to try to help get him back on his feet and remove some of the cancer that had metastasized into his lower spine. On January 1st we learned that he had stage 4 renal carcinoma with several areas of metastases throughout his body. Due to his spinal surgery he has struggled to get mobile again, and recently discontinued his cancer treatment because of how his cancer has progressed. If you know Bob (he probably did your roof) he would do anything for anyone and would never ask anyone for anything. I am asking so that we can keep him comfortable and in his apartment while he continues to fight the good fight against such a terrible diagnosis.
Gratefully,
Kate
