On Friday, September 26th, stepfather, life partner and papa, Bob Shea, was struck on his bike by a hit and run driver around 9pm in Riverview, Florida. Bob’s injuries were extensive, requiring a trauma alert to Tampa General Hospital, emergency surgeries and other procedures. He sustained a broken pelvis, femur, spleen laceration, brain bleeds and extensive road rash. Despite all of this and by a miracle, Bob is still with us and ready to get to inpatient physical rehabilitation and eventually home for an extremely long road to recovery. Bob will be in a wheelchair for at least 3 months during this recovery and will be unable to return to work for the forseeable future.
