Late in the evening of September 2, 2021, Bob Mullan was waiting in the bus shelter for a ride to work for the late shift, when a white BMW came speeding around the corner from Grand Street. The driver lost control of the car and plowed through the bus shelter where Bob was waiting, and knocked him 20 feet into the air.
Bob's wife, Linda, has confirmed that Bob lost both of his legs and has other injuries and surgeries. They are devastated. It will be a very long road to recovery for Bob, who is energetic and outgoing, and prefers, for example, to take the stairs--even up the 11 flights to the apartment he shares with Linda.
Even with the best of insurance, the out of pocket costs for everything Bob will need will be significant. There will be surgeries, physical and occupational therapy, retrofitting the apartment for a wheelchair and more.
Linda and Bob's friends, family and neighbors ask that you join us in supporting Bob and Linda as they pull through this difficult moment and get onto the road toward recovery. No amount is too small, and Bob and Linda are so grateful for the outpouring of support.
